We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. To do so, we are actively working with consultants to update the website by increasing its accessibility and usability by persons who use assistive technologies
such as automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen readers.
We are working to have the website conform to the relevant standards of the Section 508 Web Accessibility Standards developed by the United States Access Board, as
well as the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These standards and guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. We believe that conformance with these standards and
guidelines will help make the website more user friendly for all people.
Our efforts are ongoing. While we strive to have the website adhere to these guidelines and standards, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.
If, at any time, you have specific questions or concerns about the accessibility of any particular webpage, please contact WebsiteAccess@tenethealth.com so that we may be of assistance.
Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (RIM) provides expert care for patients who are ready to be discharged from the hospital but are not ready to go home following a disabling injury or illness. Our goal is to prepare our patients to return home independently or with assistance from family members or other care providers.
Patients can be referred for admission directly by their physician, social worker or family member. Admission to an inpatient rehab program requires the potential patient to meet certain qualification requirements. Previous medical history, current medical condition and the need for and the ability to participate in an intensive therapy program, determine whether a patient can be accepted.
Referral Process
Fax updated medical and rehab documentation, including therapy notes to (313) 745-1242.
A RIM physician will carefully review the medical records and determine admission based on the medical history and needs; the ability to participate in three hours of therapy, and the individual rehabilitation goals.
RIM works with many insurance carriers. Our admission coordinators will work with your provider to determine your benefit coverage and obtain authorization. Financial counseling is available for families who may need to make alternate financial arrangements.
RIM admits patients 7 days a week. The patient will receive the next appropriate bed.
