Melissa is a board-certified Physician Assistant (PA) in the state of Arizona. Prior to her PA studies, she worked as a scribe and medical assistant at Southern Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Mount Pleasant, SC. While completing her Masters program for Physician Assistant Studies, she served as clinic coordinator for her class’s student-run free medical clinic, St. Andrew’s Clinic. She also served as social chair member for the College of Health Professions’ Spanish Club, Aprendiendo Juntos. Upon graduation, Melissa was awarded membership to the Alpha Eta National Honor Society. In her free time, Melissa enjoys hiking, painting, playing soccer, volunteering, and spending time with friends and family.

My MRI results were not there (probably my fault), but Melissa went out of her way to get them from Mt. Graham. I think when I made the appointment, I asked whether I should sent those results in advance and was told to bring them with me. If the paperwork sent to me had said to bring any recent results, I might have remembered.

When I arrived for my appointment I was greeted by staff right away. I had completed my pre-registration prior to my appointment so everything went smoothly and quickly. I was taken back to a room right away for vitals, etc. The young lady took me to an exam room right away. Since I was in a wheelchair she noticed how difficult it was for me to move she saved me from going back to the lobby. I was so impressed by the caring attitude of the staff.
