Course Description

This course will focus on the prescription of exercises for optimal acceleration, linear and multidirectional speed as well as power.

Level of Course: 
Intermediate

Course Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to choose and describe appropriate:

  • Choose and prescribe effective exercises to optimize acceleration, linear and multidirectional speed, as well as power
  • Create a progressive plyometric plan for the athlete following the EXOS system
  • Give safe and effective instructions for the optimal performance of the squat, deadlift, clean, jerk, and snatch
  • Describe use periodization to optimize performance

Instructor:

Marie-Eve Pepin, PT, OMPT, MSPT, DPT
is a 1998 graduate of McGill University with a BS in Physical Therapy, a Master from Oakland University, a Doctorate from the MGH Institute and a specialization in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy from Oakland University. She is also a core faculty in the Wayne State University Physical Therapy Program. She has been teaching orthopedic content and in particular therapeutic exercise interventions for over 15 years. She has been working as an orthopedic physical therapist for 22 years.
