To Our Valued Patients and Families

We thank you for your patience during these unprecedented times. Please know that the safety of our patients and staff remain our top priority. Our hospital and clinical leadership have developed guidelines to continue to prevent and manage COVID‐19 while providing safe, quality, and expert rehabilitation care to the patients and communities we serve. We are also following guidelines from the CDC, and have adopted the following practices:

Inpatient Rehabilitation

Visitor Restrictions – RIM is changing its visitation policy until further notice. Visitors must be 18 or older and will be permitted to visit during the hours of 11am – 6pm. All visitors will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering the building and will be required to wear a face mask the entire time, including inside patient rooms. Visitors with symptoms will not be allowed inside the building. Each patient will be allowed one visitor at a time. Additional visitors will have to wait outside until it is their turn to visit. After a visit is complete, visitors must leave the hospital and cannot remain in waiting areas. In addition, a patient that is a PUI (Person Under Investigation) or has a confirmed case of COVID-19 cannot accept visitors.

Mandatory COVID-19 Screening. All RIM employees have their temperature checked every day before being allowed to enter the hospital. Anyone presenting COVID-19 symptoms is sent home to follow-up with their physician. Patients who are referred to RIM from area hospitals must also undergo mandatory COVID-19 testing prior to arriving at RIM. Patients are not admitted to RIM until we receive two negative COVID-19 tests administered within a 72 hour period. Should a patient develop symptoms while at RIM, they will be placed in isolation and tested immediately. If the test comes back positive, the patient will remain in isolation, as to not infect other patients and staff.

Enforced social distancing and wearing face masks. We have rearranged our therapy gyms to enforce 6ft social distancing between patients during treatment. In addition, staff wear N95 masks and patients are required to wear a cloth face mask whenever they leave their room.

Additional cleaning to prevent the spread of infection occurs frequently throughout our facility. Therapy equipment and treatment tables are sanitized after every use.

Outpatient Rehabilitation

Our Outpatient Therapy Clinics have slowly begun to safely open. Our goal is to have all sites opened by July. To ensure safe care, we have implemented.

Visitor Restrictions. In an effort to maintain social distancing and safety in our clinics, there are no visitors allowed to attend outpatient therapy appointments with a patient, unless a caregiver is required for assistance.

Mandatory COVID-19 Screening. All patients will be screened for COVID-19 prior to each therapy session. Staff is also screened daily.

Enforced social distancing and wearing face masks. We have rearranged our therapy gyms and waiting areas to enforce 6ft social distancing between patients. In addition, staff will be wearing surgical face masks and patients will be provided a surgical mask unless they have their own. Patients arriving early for their therapy session, will be asked to wait in their car until their scheduled appointment time.

Additional cleaning to prevent the spread of infection occurs frequently throughout our facility. Therapy equipment and treatment tables are sanitized after every use.
