TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) dysfunction is a painful or restricting condition of the jaw that can cause difficulty with opening and closing of the mouth, facial pain, headaches or neck pain. Physical Therapists with specialty training work with dentists or physicians to help restore normal function to the area. Physician prescription required for outpatient therapy.
