Vestibular Rehabilitation

This program is designed to improve balance, minimize falls and decrease dizziness. Vestibular rehabilitation is used for balance problems usually associated with dizziness or vertigo. The goal is to restore normal function of the vestibular system, which is part of the nervous system that controls one's sense of balance. Balance retraining is another type of treatment used for those who are unsteady or have a loss of balance, but don't have dizziness. This type of therapy emphasizes practical solutions to common problems, such as walking on uneven surfaces. The goal is to prevent falls and improve coordination. Physician prescription required for outpatient therapy.
