Serial Casting

Serial casting is the repeated casting of a limited joint in a stretched position with the goal of increasing joint motion and muscle flexibility. Serial casting is used to correct contractures (tight joints and muscles) resulting from spasticity or other causes, such as immobility.

RIM has both inpatient and outpatient staff with advanced training in this technique.
