Vice President, Patient Care Services
DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan

Dear Nursing Colleague,

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Patient Care Services at DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.

As Michigan's largest rehabilitation hospital, our 94 bed inpatient facility treats more spinal cord and brain injury patients than any other program in Michigan. RIM is CARF accredited and JCAHO certified.  RIM earned the distinction of being designated as a Magnet Facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in May 2013. RIM is the only rehabilitation hospital in Michigan and only the third in the country to receive the Magnet®   designation. Magnet® status is bestowed only to hospitals that exceed professional standards in nursing practice, leadership, education and research, and are able to document them. Research shows there are clear benefits to hospitals that achieve Magnet® status and to the communities they serve   including consumer confidence, recruitment and retention, and maintaining positive patient outcomes.

Our specialty programs in Neuroscience, Spinal Cord Injury and Stroke are housed on renovated units and our inpatient services also include a diverse PM&R unit serving a broad range of disabilities. Our hospital utilizes an entirely integrated electronic medical record.

RIM Nursing offers a strong emphasis on a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care and  rehabilitation that differentiates us from the acute care setting. Every patient at RIM has a unique story to tell about their journey to reach their goal of living without limitations. Our mission statement guides our care each day. "The Patient Is Our Purpose".

To learn more about nursing opportunities at RIM, or to schedule a shadow day, personal tour or interview, call at 313-745-2235.

I look forward to meeting you and sharing with you the difference rehabilitation nursing makes   at DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.
