Lawrence J. Horn MD, medical director, DMC Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan's (RIM) Neuroscience Unit, was recently selected to appear on the Best Doctors in America® List for 2014. Determined by impartial peer review, this prestigious honor is awarded to only five percent of doctors in America.
The highly regarded Best Doctors in America® List, assembled by Best Doctors, Inc., results from exhaustive polling of over 45,000 physicians in the United States. Dr. Horn was recognized as a physician who excels in the specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) and traumatic brain injury.
Dr. Horn joined RIM in 2005. In addition to serving as the medical director, he is also interim chair and a professor in the Department of PM&R at Wayne State University School of Medicine, and program director for the PM&R residency program.
He graduated with his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, IL, and completed his residency in PM&R at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA.
His areas of medical expertise are in rehabilitation of central nervous system disorders including traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury and spasticity and he is the author of several book chapters on traumatic brain injury rehabilitation.
